BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) - Five-year-old Eain Brooks died Tuesday at Women and Children's Hospital. Family members told News 4 on Thursday that the death has been ruled a homicide. The Buffalo Police Department has called a press conference to speak to the media about the case at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Police say they were called to the 100 block of Albany St. Sunday evening. After arriving on the scene, Eain was transported to the hospital by authorities.
Family members say the young boy was taken off life support on Tuesday and declared dead shortly after.
Eain's great Aunt, Linda Henry, spoke to News 4's Brittni Smallwood and says that numerous agencies are investigating the case, including Buffalo Police and Family Services. Eain's mother Nora is currently pregnant with her boyfriend's child and is due in a couple of weeks.
Police have questioned multiple people about the incident but News 4 has not yet verified if anyone has been arrested or charged in Eain's death.
In the meantime, Eain's family is pulling together, supporting each other through this tragedy.
