Abby Fridmann

Abby Fridmann joined the News 4 team as the “Weekend Wake-up” anchor and weekday reporter in November of 2020. She’s a proud Buffalonian and is thrilled to be back home!

Before coming to Buffalo, Abby worked at WVNY/WFFF in Burlington Vermont, as a Morning Anchor and Feature Reporter. She also reported in Washington D.C. as a Capitol Hill Correspondent, as she finished her master’s degree.

While in Burlington, Abby covered a wide range of topics. From political events, like the presidential campaigns of Senator Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump; to more community-based stories, like helping shelter animals find homes, and featuring the best eateries around town.

Abby attended The College at Brockport, and received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and broadcasting with a concentration in media production. She continued her education at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication, where she earned a master’s degree in broadcasting and digital journalism.

Abby has two rescue animals- a dog named Jay and a black cat named Dexter. She loves all Buffalo and Syracuse sports, spending time outdoors, and baking for her friends and family. Follow Abby on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, and send story ideas to abigail.fridmann@wivb.com.
