Passionate, persistent and prepared, Tara is excited to share the stories of Western New York and her hometown of Buffalo, N.Y. Hailing from Cheshire, Conn., but born in Buffalo, she is no stranger to Upstate New York. Before her time in Buffalo, Tara worked at WIVB/WNLO’s sister station in Elmira, WETM, where she anchored 18 News at Noon and reported for the evening newscasts. She also has experience as a producer and digital content creator.
Tara graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College and interned with CNN, ESPN and NBC Connecticut News.
At Ithaca College, Tara was an active participant at ICTV News where she was an anchor, reporter and producer, leading a revamp of Good Day Ithaca, the station’s morning news show. She won a Region 1 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award for her reporting and 2020 Syracuse Press Club Best College Sports Story, First Place.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, she launched The Next Big Thing, a digital infotainment news show on Instagram designed to share news and entertainment content on social media. From Ginger Zee to Mark Sanchez to Jade Pettyjohn, Tara interviewed several influential people as part of the series.
In her spare time, Tara enjoys playing and watching sports, especially her beloved Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. You can also find her whipping up tasty treats in the kitchen as a cook and baker. She is excited to be a member of this vibrant community, sharing the stories that matter to viewers.
