The CVA gives abuse victims the one-year window to file lawsuits, no matter how long ago the abuse took place. This page is updated daily with new cases filed under the CVA.
In December, Judge Deborah Chimes ruled in one case against the Amherst Central School District that the plaintiff can proceed anonymously, which set the stage for other plaintiffs to file their cases with pseudonyms if they so choose. A licensed mental health counselor also submitted an affidavit in support of allowing plaintiffs to file their cases anonymously.
