News 4 and the American Red Cross of Western and Central New York thank you for a successful Blood Saves Lives telethon.

A total of 68 people called in to make an appointment to donate blood, which far exceeded our goal.

Right now, the Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of both O negative and O positive blood types.

A whole blood donation appointment will take approximately one hour from start to finish, but the donation itself only takes about 8-10 minutes.
