The 94-year-old man who Buffalo police say fired a shot inside Mary Agnes Manor has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.
According to police, John Tenant was slated to go to ECMC for a psych evaluation on Wednesday morning.
When paramedics arrived and tried to get him to leave the assisted living facility on Porter Ave., police say he pulled out a gun and fired one shot, hitting a wall.
One paramedic was able to subdue the man and get the gun from him, police say.
It is not clear how the elderly man got the gun, or if he was allowed to have it in the building, according to officers.
Tenant is not welcome to return to Mary Agnes Manor, and will be back in court on July 31.
If convicted, he could be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
