Niagara Falls, New York’s North End community has a new option for buying healthier food.

The African Heritage Food Co-op held its grand opening on Saturday, February 23.

The store is located in the former Mr. Brown’s Grocery Store at 2616 Highland Ave.

The co-op began in 2016 as a mobile market through grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The market has now moved into its newly renovated brick and mortar space.

Organizers said this space will help illiminate food disparity that exists in the area.

The co-op will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
