(WIVB) — Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek is opening up about his fight with cancer.
Trebek announced earlier this year that he was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer.
“When they say pancreatic, that caught my attention. That’s a big fist,” Trebek said. “I know about pancreatic cancer, and I said, oh, I cursed a little.”
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning host Jane Pauley, he made it clear that he isn’t letting cancer get in the way of his signature humor.
“And the big one was the stage four. That just means it’s spread to other places. So, it sounds impressive. I’ve got stage four cancer; not stage one for sissies. That’s just beginner’s cancer.”
Trebek added that he has no plans to let his cancer interfere with his hosting duties for Jeopardy!
