Josh Allen’s debut as a starter didn’t quite go as planned in Buffalo’s third preseason game against Cincinnati on Sunday.
Behind a turnstile offensive line, Allen was sacked five times before exciting late in the first half after suffering what appeared to be a head injury.
As the rookie quarterback was taken down in the end zone by Bengals defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap in the final minute of the second quarter, his head bounced off the turf. He then walked off the field to the locker room with athletic trainers.
Allen played eight series with the first team but failed to gain any traction as he was continually under pressure from the Bengals.
He finished 6-for-11 for just 34 yards as the Bills trailed 20-0 at half.
