Arrest made in fatal hit and run near Darien Lake


The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement that hit and run suspect Jennifer Serrano had been arrested for a DWI on the same day as the hit and run crash. 

Serrano had nearly struck a Sheriff’s Office vehicle at 1 a.m. on Alleghany road, according to deputies. She was arrested for a DWI and later made bail. 

Deputies believe that half an hour prior to that, at 12:30 a.m., Serrnao struck and killed 18-year-old Connor Lynskey on Sumner Road. 

Investigators says Lynskey was returning to his camp site after a concert at Darien Lake when he was struck. 

Seranno remains in the Genesee County Jail on charges of Vehicular Mansalughter and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, both felonies.

An arrest has been made in a hit and run accident that killed an 18-year-old man on Saturday. 

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said that 48-year-old Jennifer Serrano of Irving, New York has been arrest in connection to the incident. 

She faces charges of Vehicular Manslaughter and Leaving the scene of a personal injury incident. 

Serrano was committed to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000. 

The person killed in the incident was 18-year-old Connor Lynskey, of Hinckley, NY. 

Lynskey was believed to be walking from a Darien Laken concert back to a campsite when the incident occurred.
