Board of Elections warns of over-the-phone voter registration scam

The New York State Board of Elections is warning residents about over-the-phone scammers.

They say scammers are asking you to register to vote in an attempt to gain personal information. 

So far, the scam has been reported in Chemung and Steuben Counties. 

REMINDER: The Board of Elections will never call you asking to register to vote over the phone.
