CHAUTAUQUA LAKE, N.Y. (WIVB) — The body of a man who drowned in Chautauqua Lake on Saturday was found Thursday morning.

Authorities in Chautauqua County say Ricky Whipple, 48, was riding in an inner tube behind a boat on Chautauqua Lake. The boat had three adults and a child inside it.

During the ride, Whipple fell off of the tube and did not come back up from underneath the water.

Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace does not think Whipple had a life jacket on at the time, leading to his death.

His body was found just before 6 a.m. about 200 yards off the lake shore.
