Buffalo Police have had over 2,000 fireworks complaints since June

(WIVB) – Official firework shows may have been canceled this year due to COVID-19, and that seems to have encouraged Western New Yorkers to set off their own.

Buffalo Police say they received more than 2,000 fireworks complaints since June.

The law only allows for sparkling devices- some of which make small fireworks- to be fired from June 1 to July 5.
