It’s shop o’clock on this Friday! You voted, and Blush came out on top, as Buffalo’s Best boutique!
Buffalo is home to Blush, and home is inside their walls. Back in 2010, Vicky Schaffstall’s son started dating his friend, Lexie, who lived in New York City at the time.
“I said, ‘hmmm we gotta get Lexie back to Buffalo because I don’t want Patrick leaving to go to New York,” Schaffstall said.
And that’s how Blush began. Vicky’s now daughter-in-law, Lexie, moved back to Buffalo, and the two went into business together.
They own four locations in Western New York: Stores in Buffalo, Orchard Park, Williamsville and a new one in East Aurora.
“We specialize in dresses,” Lexie Furlong said. “So, a lot of girls that are going to showers or weddings, and things like that. We get a lot of girls looking for things like that, and pretty outfits to wear.”
They’ll even help style you if you’d like. Or you can throw a party there with your friends.
And each item is hand-picked by Lexie and Vicky.
A priority to them is supporting other women. Many of their items are designed and created by women across the country.
They sell key necklaces, which are created by a woman who employs the homeless.
“Every key has a word on it,” Schaffstall said.
People buy a key with a word they connect with, and once they meet someone who needs it more, they give it to that person.
They love those who shop local, and they support local as well. The murals in their Williamsville and East Aurora locations were created by a local artist. Other items inside, like the front counter in the Williamsville store, were created locally as well.
Their newest store on Main Street in East Aurora is having it’s grand opening Friday, November 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The first 50 people in the store get a free Blush tote with goodies inside.
