Three Girls Cafe in Boston is the big winner of Buffalo’s best chili! News 4 made the trip out to the South towns to find out what makes it so good.

“It’s very hearty, and it has a nice taste it’s not too spicy. We have a lot of older customers so we try not to spice things up too much,” said Penny Grinsell, Three Girls Cafe owner.

Since 2001, chili at Three Girls Cafe has always been served with a little spice and a lot of tlc.

“Ever since Sharon created this recipe, it has stayed the same and we have always served it exactly the way that Sharon created it,” said Michele Flattery, Three Girls Cafe waitress.

“Hamburger meat is in there, there’s onions, peppers, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, a little salt, a little chili, pepper,” said Grinsell.

The tasty chili and hospitality keeps customers like Yves coming back day after day.

“Everyday, 7 days a week. It’s excellent and a good comfort food,” said Yves Coulonbe, loyal customer.

“It’s very family oriented and my customers are very loyal, it’s like a home away from home for them also,” said Grinsell.

The Three Girls Cafe started with Sharon, who opened the business with her two daughters 17 years ago. Three years ago, she passed away. Now her daughter Penny is the sole owner, and keeps her mother’s legacy alive with her original recipes.

“I wish to pass it down to my daughter and my granddaughter and hope they keep my mother’s recipes going,” said Grinsell.

Three girls cafe is open from 5:30 am to 2:30 pm on weekdays, 6 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays, and 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sundays.
