In Genesee County, two people were hurt when their car crashed into a house.
Sheriff’s investigators say the two were in some sort of altercation while the car was moving.
The car was heading south on Route 98 in the Town of Batavia Monday afternoon.
Investigators say the car crossed the center line, went off the road about 200 feet, then smashed into a vacant house.
Rescue crews say first responders had to help the man and woman out of the car.
Town of Batavia Fire Chief Dan Coffey said “Vehicle off the road, into a house, with potential entrapment, two occupants, were in the vehicle. They were able to be removed from the vehicle by bystanders, first-arriving law enforcement and first-arriving personnel.”
The driver was identified as Rodney Harmon Jr., and the passenger was Josette Harmon.
Both live in Elba, and were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the cause is still under investigation. Charges are pending.
