BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A transportation company known across the western New York region will shutter some of its operations across the region, laying off over 200 staffers.
Officials announced on the New York State WARN System on Thursday that 93 Hamburg employees from the Lake Shore Road location, 129 employees at Depew’s Sheldon Avenue location and two employees from Gowanda’s Buffalo Street location will all be laid off.
The business disclosed its reason as economic, noting it would be closing at least its Hamburg location. A Carrier Coach representative confirmed the business is in negotiations with a possible buyer, but nothing is concrete as of yet.
The cuts are expected to take place at the end of June 2016.
