A Chautauqua County man is facing animal cruelty charges after sheriff’s deputies found four dogs locked inside of a car with feces and no water.
David D. Hannold, 50, of Sherman, was charged with overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals; failing to provide proper sustenance and confinement of a companion animal in a vehicle.
According to sheriff’s reports, deputies were called to a Village of Mayville location on Oct. 4 for a report of a dog locked in a vehicle for at least 20 hours.
Deputies discovered one adult dog and three puppies inside of the vehicle, all in poor health and noticeably skinny.
