BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 29-year-old Cheektowaga man has been charged after a vehicle pursuit in Buffalo.

Buffalo police say Dmitri Ross fled officers in the city’s entertainment district early Sunday morning.

Ross’ arrest came after a shooting incident on Franklin St.

Police say a 28-year-old Tonawanda man was shot and taken to ECMC to be treated for serious injuries.

Shortly after this, police say a fight involving a group of people broke out in the area.

Officers tried to end the fight, and during this time, a vehicle struck or contacted the officers involved.

The vehicle then left the scene, prompting a chase that ended near the Kensington Expressway and Cayuga Rd. in Cheektowaga.

Along with a charge of fleeing a police officer, Ross was accused of reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
