19-year-old Buffalo woman sentenced for fatal stabbing at house party


A 19-year-old Buffalo woman has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for fatally stabbing another woman at a house party.

This past August, Areyona Favors stabbed NaKara Morgan multiple times at a house party on Schreck Ave. Morgan later died due to her injuries.

In April, Favors pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. She also admitted to assaulting a deputy at the Erie County Holding Center this past November.

She will serve a concurrent seven-year sentence for that crime.
