NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people who were accused of animal abuse in North Tonawanda were back in court.

Joseph Barwick, 40, and Dorothy Adama, 47, applied for a public defender. That means they don’t have a lawyer.

Investigators found a dog malnourished with broken teeth in their home. They also found several cats.

The two are scheduled to appear back in court on May 30.
