LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Following a drive-by shooting on Center Street in Lackawanna last month, two suspects have been arrested.
Louis Rivera, 22, and Christian Vargas, 19, both of Buffalo, were arrested Monday morning after self-surrendering.
Earlier reports said police were looking for four people. Lackawanna police identified the situation "as an isolated domestic incident."
Police say they received help from the Buffalo Peacemakers and Rev. James Giles in making the arrests.
Rev. Giles hopes Rivera and Vargas' self surrender sets an example for many in Buffalo who are still at large for unrelated shootings.
"I'm hoping that individuals who are committing these kind of heinous crimes, you know it's got to weigh heavy on them at some point," Giles said.
According to police, the suspects contacted Giles, saying they wanted to surrender themselves. After this, police say arrangements were made and Giles transported and turned the suspects over to police.
Rivera and Vargas were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Reckless Endangerment.
