A 27-year-old is accused of driving drunk before hitting and killing a woman who was getting out of her car last month in Cheektowaga.

Blair Bell of Cheektowaga is charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and two counts of DWI in relation to the May 4 crash on Pine Ridge Road.

Around 11:30 p.m. on that Saturday, Tonya Gravely was removing items from her own vehicle, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, when she was hit by a vehicle. Gravely later died at the hospital. She was 46.

Bell, who was arraigned Tuesday, is next scheduled to return to court on August 1. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to seven years in prison.
