Correction officer charged with stealing purse from Medina woman

ALBION, N.Y. (WIVB) - A correction officer at a Pennsylvania jail has been arrested after New York State police say he stole a purse from a Medina woman.

The woman contacted police after Olean resident Jeromy Farr, 47, allegedly took her purse from her shopping cart at the Albion Walmart this past November.

State police say the purse contained personal items and $700.

A State Trooper worked with Walmart to obtain surveillance video, which police say showed Farr take the purse and place it in his vehicle.

Loss prevention workers were able to retrace his actions in the store, police say.

Along with this, Troopers say information from a debit card led to Farr's arrest.

On Tuesday, Farr was charged with petit larceny and issued a ticket for Town of Albion Court.
