A retired Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputy accused of killing another man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Joseph Mlyniec was charged following the death of 32-year-old Robert Irvine III. Prosecutors say Mlyniec fatally shot Irvine in the driveway of the former deputy’s home in Perry in March.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office says Irvine was shot four times. According to the Sheriff, a handgun belonging to Mlyniec was used.
As part of Mlyniec’s plea deal, he waived his right to an appeal.
Mlyniec pleaded guilty on the condition that he is sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. The sentencing will take place on November 14.
