Lancaster school principal charged with DWI

The principal of Hillview Elementary School in Lancaster has been charged with DWI.

Amy Moeller, 40, of Amherst was stopped on Transit Rd. in Clarence this past Thursday. New York State police say her tail lights and headlights were not on.

When she provided a breath sample, Troopers say her blood alcohol content turned out to be 0.13 percent.

Following her arrest, Moeller was released. She will appear in court in Clarence at a later date.

Moeller has been the principal at Hillview since 2013. Her employment status following the arrest is not known.

Lancaster Central School District Superintendent Dr. Michael Vallely released a statement on Wednesday:

“We are aware of the pending charges against one of the district’s employees.  We are in the process of doing a thorough investigation. When completed, we will determine the appropriate steps to be taken. As this is an ongoing legal and personnel matter, I am unable to comment any further at this time.”
