LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Lockport man was sentenced to five years of probation for stealing from a group who supports local veterans and their families.

Scott Hemperly was part of the “Jeep Wranger Club.”

Back in 2017, the club raised more than $5,000 for WNY Heroes at a weekend event.

Hemperly admitted to stealing that money, pleading guilty to two counts of grand larceny.

Hemperly has paid back all of the money he stole from the group. In addition to his probation sentence, he was ordered to perform 250 hours of community service.
