Man charged after more than 12 dead chickens were found on old property

A Sherman man faces serious animal abuse charges after more than a dozen dead chickens were found on his old property in Chautauqua County.

The people who live there now found an unattended coop on the land.

The Sheriff’s Office said the dead chickens were found locked in the coop with no way out.

The old resident, James Linger, was charged with torturing an animal.
