A man has been taken into custody following a standoff in Fredonia.
Police had been looking for Walter Duprey, a man wanted on felony arrest warrants accusing him of robbery, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The warrants were issued by Dunkirk City Court.
After learning that Duprey was staying at an address on Eagle St., Fredonia police went there on Wednesday.
On the residence’s second floor, police say Duprey barricaded himself. There were accessible firearms inside the building, police say.
During one hour, three people in the residence were released through negotiations.
Shortly after this, Duprey surrendered himself to Fredonia police, who turned him over to authorities in Dunkirk.
