MEDINA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man who has been on police radar since 1992, when he went missing ahead of accusations of kidnapping his son, was caught last week in western New York.
Police say after more than 20 years of investigation, they located a Daniel Lee Kestel, 58, who has been wanted on a federal level since July 22, 1992. Members of the FBI, who worked with Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputies, say they followed up on numerous leads in order to find the man in Medina on Friday.
Kestel went missing on June 21, when he took his 13-month-old son for a visit and failed to return as he was mandated.RELATED | See the more than 20-year-old complaint here.
