The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says a murder suspect assaulted a sergeant at the Holding Center.
Areyona Favors, 19, was previously charged in the death of NaKara Morgan.
Prosecutors say she stabbed the 21-year-old Buffalo woman multiple times at a house party this past August.
Favors was arrested again on Wednesday following an incident at the Holding Center.
Deputies say she was ordered to leave the visitation room following an incident there. According to them, she started yelling profanities and was not compliant.
When she was taken to her housing unit, deputies say she became increasingly uncooperative and started threatening and fighting with deputies.
A sergeant was kicked in the lower body, deputies say. The sergeant was taken to ECMC and treated for a leg injury.
Favors was taken to the jail’s infirmary, but she refused evaluation and damaged medical equipment, officials say.
She was eventually taken to a cell.
Favors was charged with assault, and will also face administrative disciplinary charges.
