ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — A late Wednesday arrest took police on a chase through three different towns as they attempted to stop a man accused of threatening to kill his wife.
Calls for help rang out from an Abbott Road home on Wednesday night just after 9 p.m., when a local woman said her husband confronted her with multiple loaded shotguns and a stun gun. The man allegedly told his wife that he’d shoot her in the head then commit suicide by cop.
But when police neared the home, the husband, identified as Heath Snyder, fled on his motorcycle, police say. Police chased Snyder through Hamburg, Orchard Park and West Seneca. The chase came to a close at a home in West Seneca by a group of police officers who joined in on the chase.
Orchard Park Police arrested, then charged the man with aggravated harassment and Hamburg Police charged the man with vehicle and traffic citations.
Police say an investigation is continuing, but Snyder faced arraignment and subsequent jailing on $1,000 bail.
