WATCH: Erie County Sheriff looking to identify man who broke window of Elma business

Crime

Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is looking for the public’s help in identifying a man who threw an object through the window of the Xtreme Discount Mattress store in Elma.

Deputies say they responded to the store on Wednesday at 4:27 a.m. to investigate a criminal mischief incident.

An in-store surveillance camera caught visuals of a dark-haired white male, wearing no shirt, picking up a piece of concrete and throwing it through one of the windows of the store, before stumbling back to the vehicle.

After exiting a dark-colored SUV the subject was observed wearing light colored jeans, white sneakers, and red undergarments.

Officials say the video shows the vehicle traveling northbound on Transit Road following the incident.

Deputies are looking for both the individual who broke the window and the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 716-858-2903.
