SODUS, NY (WROC) – The medical examiner has arrived at the farm in Wayne County where a mother, who was reported missing Tuesday with her son, works.

Our crew at the the farm says a number of deputies have responded and blocked off the area. The development follows a missing person alert issued Tuesday for 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her 14-month-old son Owen Hidalgo-Calderon.

Right now, it’s not clear why the medical examiner is on the scene. Deputies tell News 8 they are speaking with the mother’s family, but did not disclose further information.

Investigators say they will hold a press conference later this afternoon on the case.

The development comes after family and friends rallied Wednesday marking a week after a mother and son were last seen in Wayne County.

Deputies said Tuesday Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her son were last spotted in the area of Joy Road on May 16.

Speaking Wednesday, family members pleaded for the public to keep an eye out for the pair.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts can call the sheriff’s office at 315-946-9711. Selena is 5 foot 8 inches tall, 130 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
