A Florida couple didn’t let Hurricane Michael stop them from tying the knot.
Jim and Lorri Beary were supposed to exchange vows at the Leon County Courthouse before flying out for their honeymoon in Italy.
But Hurricane Michael had other plans and the courthouse closed ahead of the storm, WJXT reports.
“At the house, when he told me that the courthouse was closing, yes, I freaked and he calmed me down.”
The couple made some phone calls and finally got in touch with Selecia Young-Jones who agreed to officiate their wedding at the Jacksonville International Airport.
“So this just fits. Flee a hurricane. Come get married at the atrium in Jacksonville,” Lorri Beary told the news station.
“It was like, just a test for marriage. [laughs] That’s it,” said Jim.
The couple says they plan to have a reception with family and friends once they return from their honeymoon.
