“Food Network” critic Alton Brown took a swing at Buffalo’s most famous regional food during a hot sauce taste test on YouTube.
Brown and the video’s host discussed the regionality of food in the video, with Brown saying “Once a region believes its got the lock on something, the quality almost immediately starts to go downhill.”
Brown then fake-coughed before mentioning chicken wings.
“I’m sorry. If you really want great Buffalo chicken wings, you don’t go to fricken Buffalo,” Brown said.
Brown performs around the country in his “Edible Inevitable Tour”, which is a live culinary variety show. He performed at UB in October.
“I’ll never be able to play Buffalo again,” Brown joked after making the jab.
