FLORIDA (WFLA)- – Right after shots rang out at a video game tournament in Jacksonville, a number of gamers took to Twitter to tell their stories of survival.
Three people, who identified themselves as gamers said on Twitter they were injured in the shooting that killed four and wounded several others.
According to a tweet, gamer MaddenVtech was hit by bullets twice.
“I’m good…got hit twice. Lower body. One went through. The other was lodged,” he said on Twitter.
Drink Gjoka, a top flight competitive gamer who was playing in the tournament called it the “worst day of his life.”
“The tourney just got shot up. I’m leaving and never coming back,” Gjoka wrote, later saying: “I am literally so lucky. The bullet hit my thumb.”
“I will never take anything for granted ever again. Life can be cut short in a second,” he added.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said four people were killed, including the gunman who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Nine others were reported wounded and taken to area hospitals.
Electronic Arts, a game manufacturer that sponsored the tournament, said it’s working with authorities to gather more information.
