Henrietta man charged with sex assault of child; deputies say there may be more victims

A Henrietta man is facing charges for sexually assaulting a child and now deputies say there may be more victims in the case.

Mark Buechler, age 39, is charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, criminal sex act and use of a child in a sexual performance.

Deputies say the arrest was the result of an investigation by the sheriff’s office and CPS.

Buechler is being held without bail in Monroe County Jail.

Deputies say: “Based upon new information, the Sheriff’s Office recognizes the likelihood that there may be additional victims involved in this investigation. We are requesting anyone with any additional information, pertaining to potential criminal conduct on the part of Mr. Buechler, to contact 911.”

Statement from Rush-Henrietta CSD

Today, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office informed the Rush-Henrietta Central School District that a parent of two of our students has been arrested and charged with sex crimes. We have been assured that these alleged crimes did not occur on school property, but elsewhere.
