A Lockport woman is in custody following a high speed chase throughout several Niagara County towns Saturday afternoon.
Niagara County Sheriff’s Office officials tell News 4 Sincere Wiley, 27, had been visiting an inmate at the Niagara County Jail when a deputy claimed to see Wiley driving erratically in the parking lot – from there a chase ensued.
Capt. Jill Herrington said the high speed chase reached speeds up to around 90 miles per hour.
“At the time when the chase began it was reckless operation and the fact that the suspect almost struck a deputy,” Herrington said. “It was soon learned that the suspect was driving a stolen vehicle and based on the conditions at the time of the chase, the supervisor felt comfortable with the chase continuing.”
Wiley ultimately came to a stop in the front yard of a home on Green Street where she was taken into custody. She faces several charges, including reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing of a police officer and criminal possession of stolen property. She will appear in Town of Lockport court Monday morning.
