Jamestown police looking for man accused of assaulting victim, firing weapon

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jamestown police are looking for a man accused of assaulting another person in an apartment.

Police say a man at a Prendergast Ave. apartment fired off a shot from a pistol, but without hitting anyone. During an altercation, the man allegedly struck his victim with the pistol.

The gun holder then left the apartment in a green caravan, according to police.

He is described as a dark-skinned Hispanic man in his 40s. At the time, police say he was wearing a red tank top, a burgundy Cleveland Cavaliers hat and long dark shorts.

Anyone with information on his identity can call police or leave an anonymous tip at 483-TIPS (8477).
