Kenmore West High School had a shelter-in-place Wednesday for a student medical issue.

The shelter-in-place was enacted to keep the halls clear to allow first responders to get to the student, Patrick Fanelli, communications relations coordinator for the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Schools siad Wednesday evening.

Simultaneously, the school and Town of Tonawanda Police were investigating a reported threat, which proved to be groundless, Fanelli said.

“The shelter-in-place was not the result of the matter that was being investigated, but was initiated due to an unrelated medical issue,” he said.
