KeyBank to provide $25,000 needed for July 4 fireworks in Niagara Falls

News

After city leaders previously said there wouldn’t be fireworks in Niagara Falls this Fourth of July, KeyBank is making it possible.

News 4 confirmed on Wednesday that the bank is giving the Niagara Falls Police Athletic League $25,000 needed to put on the show.

“The annual Independence Day Fireworks Display is a summertime tradition in Niagara Falls,” Gary Quenneville, KeyBank upstate New York regional sales executive, said. “KeyBank is proud to provide the funding to continue this event that has been enjoyed by families and neighbors for years. We look forward to a night of fun and excitement in the Falls on July 4th!”

Weeks ago, the city unanimously voted against putting money toward the fireworks, partially due to budget issues.
