ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) – The iconic Kodak building in Rochester was imploded early Saturday morning.

One-hundred pounds of dynamite were used to turn the the 1,500 tons of concrete and steel into a pile of rubble.

The controlled demolition of Building 53 is another step in the revitalization of Eastman Business Park, Kodak says.

As manufacturing shrinks, Kodak has taken down many buildings over the past decade.

What’s left of the 92-year-old staple building is expected to be cleared by December.
