Late Ralph Wilson, Jr., family honored with Siegel Landing paver

The late Ralph Wilson, Jr. and his family were honored Monday at the second paver installation ceremony at Siegel Landing near Hoyt Lake, in honor of what would have been the Bills’ founder’s 100th birthday.

The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and the Siegel family unveiled and presented a commemorative paver to Mrs. Mary Wilson in honor of her late husband.

The original Siegel Landing opened in June.

You can buy a commemorative paver with a personal message engraved on it as part of the restorative project.

“It’s exceeded my expectations,” said Aaron Siegel, Olmsted Park trustee. “I was hoping in the early going in this first year I would only sell 75 pavers, but we are up to almost 120.”

The project will roll out every six months to give people time to place orders for the pavers.

Organizers say an installation ceremony is expected to take place every fall and spring.
