FREDONIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Officials with New York State Lottery say a $1 million Powerball ticket was purchased at the Fredonia Food Mart.

Five out of five numbers on Amy McGavis’ ticket matched the January 6 drawing, but the Powerball number did not. Still, McGavis’ was thrilled when she found out about her winnings.

Fredonia Food Mart is a family business that has been around since 1978. Olympian Jenn Suhr is the daughter of store owner Mark Stuczynski.

The Powerball jackpot, which was not won in the Wednesday drawing, will have an estimated jackpot of $800 million for the next drawing on Saturday. This would be the biggest jackpot of any lottery game in U.S. history.
