3 children rescued during flooding in Allegany County

CENTERVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three children had to be rescued as flooding began in the southern tier Thursday morning.

New York State police tell News 4 the children were rescued in Centerville, which is in Allegany County.

Their ages are two, four and six.

Troopers say the kids crossed a small bridge over a creek. When the heavy rains began, the kids became stranded.

Centerville fire officials and a local resident helped look for the kids, who were located after an hour-long search.
