Abby gives smiles and candy bars to Roswell Park community

Abby Hayes has seen a lot more than the average six year old. “HAVE A SWEET DAY” she says as she hands out candy bars to the community at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center

She and her mom started collecting “losing” Tim hortons roll up the rim cups and traded them into Niagara Chocolate for their everyone’s a winner campaign.

ABBY’S MOM: “Abby said, what are we going to do with all this candy and she said why don’t we take it to the people at daddy’s hospital.”

After hearing the sweet idea, Niagara Chocolates decided to match every candy bar. 

Her Dad has Stage IV Colon Cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. He and the family have been in and out of Roswell for the past five years. Something as simple as a smile has helped her dad through the worst of times. So she decided to try put a smile on others people faces.

A smile may not cure cancer, but when you need a boost of hope it’s the little things that make all the difference. Gabrielle Mediak News 4.
