ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) — Assemblyman David DiPietro is firing back after talks of legalizing prostitution in New York began.
On Wednesday, members of the New York State Assembly gathered in Albany for a legislative meeting.
DiPietro, who represents the 147th Assembly District in Erie and Wyoming counties, said the proposition of legalizing prostitution was “a new low” for the state.
“They want to legalize prostitution in New York, which is, just to me, probably the lowest I’ve ever seen this government go,” DiPietro said.
To his dismay, DiPietro says he saw “hookers roaming the capital, lobbying for legalization of prostitution.”
“The Democrat majority has said that they want to put it on the calendar,” DiPietro said.
