On Friday night, @BearsTalk, NBC Sports Chicago’s Bears twitter page, tweeted a video which named Bills fans, specifically BillsMafia, as the “laughing stock of the NFL.”
The video characterized BillsMafia members as table-jumping, heavy-drinking hooligans.
Bills fans decided to take the high road.
Following the @BearsTalk tweet, BillsMafia members decided to do to Chicago what they did to Cincinnati last winter – donate.
Bills fans are now coming together to donate money to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation in Chicago.
As of Monday morning, Bear Necessities officials say $9,000 dollars has been raised by Bills fans alone– and that dollar amount is still climbing.
Many #BillsMafia members are using the hashtag #MoreThanBreakingTables when they tweet out their donation receipts.
