BPD: Buffalo man had .29 BAC in wrong-way head-on crash on 33 Expressway

Buffalo Police said they have arrested a person in connection with a head-on collision that happened on the 33 expressway in October 2018.

The incident happened on October 15, 2018, around 11:30 p.m. on the inbound 33 near the Locust Street off-ramp, according to a release. 

BPD accident investigators have arrested 30-year-old Rodney Borden Jr, Buffalo, and charged him with aggrivated vehicular assault, aggrivated DWI, reckless driving, imprudent speed, and other charges, the release said.  

According to a BPD spokesperson, investigators said Borden’s BAC was .29, more than three times the legal limit of .08. Police said Borden was traveling the wrong way.

The victim, a 28-year-old woman, driving the other vehicle was released from ECMC after being treated for multiple injuries, according to the release.
